This statement

This statement applies to the website instrupro.co.uk, run by Instrumentation Products and Services Ltd.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, whatever browser, device or assistive technology they use. It is designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we check that in the ways described below. It has not been audited by a third party.

What you can do on this site

• Use every page with a keyboard alone. Menus open and close with Enter, Space and Escape, and the control you were using keeps focus when a menu closes.
• See where you are. Every link, button and form field shows a visible focus ring, in both the light and dark colour schemes and in Windows high contrast mode.
• Skip straight to the content. The first link on every page jumps past the header to the main content.
• Read text at a comfortable size. No text is smaller than 13px, and every size is set relative to your browser settings, so browser zoom and text resizing both work.
• Use it on a narrow screen. Every page reflows to a 320px wide viewport with no horizontal scrolling, which is the same test as 400% zoom on a desktop screen.
• Choose a light or dark colour scheme. The site follows your system setting, and the toggle in the header lets you override it. Text contrast meets level AA in both.
• Avoid motion. There is no decorative animation. Page transitions and the short hero video on some pages only run when your system does not ask for reduced motion, and the video has a pause control.
• Fill in the enquiry form with confidence. Every field has a visible label, required fields say so in words, and errors are listed at the top of the form and linked to the field that needs attention. The form also works with JavaScript switched off.
• Tell states apart without colour. The current page or section in the navigation is marked by weight and an underline, not by colour alone.
• Read tables on a phone. Specification tables keep their headings when they stack on small screens, and they stay tables for screen readers.

How we test

Accessibility is checked automatically every time the site is built, and a build that fails a check does not go live. The checks include:

• An axe-core scan of a representative page of each type, in both colour schemes, against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 level A and AA rules.
• A reflow check on every page at a 320px viewport.
• Keyboard tests of the navigation menus and the mobile menu: opening, closing, Escape, and where focus lands.
• A check that every page has exactly one main heading, a title and a description.

Automated tools find only a proportion of accessibility barriers. Alongside them, the site is tested by hand with a keyboard in Microsoft Edge, and every change is reviewed visually at four screen widths.

What we know about

• We have not yet tested the site with a screen reader. The markup uses standard landmarks, headings, labels and states, but until that testing is done we cannot say how well each page reads aloud.
• The bot protection check on the enquiry form is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, and we cannot change how it works. If it stops you sending an enquiry, email or phone us instead.
